Who we are
Rhyzo operates the Vegetation Suitability Engine. For any question about your data, contact info@rhyzo.co.
What we collect
- Email address — when you request an access code or sign in.
- IP address & approximate location — your IP is recorded with sign-in and usage events, and from it we derive an approximate location (city, region and country). We do not collect precise or GPS location. This is used to keep the service secure, to detect a single account being used from several distant places at once, and to understand which areas the tool is used in.
- Sessions & devices — a short-lived record of your active sign-in sessions: a one-way session identifier (never your login token), a coarse device type (mobile / tablet / desktop), and the approximate location above. We keep this to limit how many places one account can be signed in from and to prevent shared or leaked credentials. It expires when your session does.
- Usage events — a coarse record of actions such as code requests, logins and report downloads, and the place you look up. We do not track page-by-page browsing, store full user-agent strings, or set advertising cookies.
Why we collect it
To authenticate you, to keep the service secure, to detect and prevent account sharing and abuse (including limiting concurrent sessions and flagging unusual usage), and to understand overall usage — including its rough geography — so we can improve the tool. Our lawful bases are performance of the service you request and our legitimate interest in operating it securely.
How long we keep it
Access sessions expire automatically (roughly daily). Usage and access logs are retained only as long as needed for security and product analysis, after which they are deleted or aggregated. Exact retention period to be confirmed by the owner.
Sharing
We do not sell your data. Data is processed by the infrastructure providers that host the tool and deliver its emails. Place and species lookups are resolved against public reference services.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email info@rhyzo.co.
